PSM members who have earned at least 24 units of Microbiology, 15 units of  Biology, 16 units of Chemistry, 6 units of Physics and 3 units of Mathematics may apply to take the accreditation examination by submitting the following to the Accreditation Board c/o PAM Secretary, PSM Office, 2^nd floor EC Arcade, Demarces Farmville, College, Laguna 3041.

• accomplished application form (available at BIOTECH, UPLB c/o of Dr. Lorele C. Trinidad or can be downloaded from the PSM website: Philippine Academy of Microbiology Application Form
• transcript of records or true copy of grades
• proof of PSM membership
• one recent 2x2 photo

Applicants who pass the preliminary evaluation by the PAM Accreditation Board shall be notified by the PAM Secretary.  The examination fee is P1,000 to be paid before the first examination day.

The examination  will cover the following required areas: Basic Microbiology, Microbial Physiology, Virology and Microbial Ecology,  and electives: Food Microbiology and Medical Microbiology.  Microbial Genetics is not included in the required examination area this year but will be included in the next examination schedules.

For the renewal of accreditation for Registered and Specialist Microbiologists which should be done every three years, the following requirements must be satisfied:

• Payment of renewal fee (P300.00) and ID processing fee (120.00) to PAM treasurer, Olivia C. Emata -DTRI, UPLB or thru PAM Savings Account No. 485 3 485 161797, Metrobank, Los Baños, Laguna.
• Proof of attendance to a recent PSM / Microbiology-related activity.
• You can have your photo taken at Leo's Studio, Vega Center-UPLB or send scanned photo and signature by email to PAM secretary: lct_emsl@yahoo.com.
